South Africa gets Rocket League Servers
In a big win for South African Rocket Leaguers, we now have our own servers! Rocket League, the successful rocket-boosted-football game, burst onto the scene in 2015 to rave reviews over just how fun the game is. It launched on multiple platforms, offered cross-platform play, and has since become a massive hit across every single platform. It’s even coming to the Nintendo Switch soon.
It’s the perfect game which ties together both casual and competitive players and has, since its inception, remained as one of the more popular games around the globe. What makes Rocket League so fun is that it’s extremely rewarding whether you win or lose. You’re able to pull off insane rocket-propelled shots, and combo them up with your friends or random people from around the world. Originally, Rocket League in South Africa was limited to the European servers, which did add a bit of lag, but now, thanks to Psyonix and Rocket League, we’re getting our own servers.
South African servers for Rocket League were first discussed as far back as March where the CEO of Psyonix, Dave Hagewood, detailed the path forward which included the discussion on South African servers.
It’s a great day for all gamers, in fact, as this means South Africa is getting some much-needed attention in the server department and, should these servers show success, we could be looking at even more companies heading down here.
