Turtle Power comes to Injustice 2

Injustice 2 is the latest iteration of the game series which pits DC Comic’s favourite heroes and villains against each other in spectacular combat. The fighting game, which resembles other classics such as Street Fighter and Tekken, has become a huge hit in the fighting scene having just completed a World Championship at the ELEAGUE Studios.

While Injustice 2 is mainly comprised of DC Comic Book heroes and villains, they have added a few memorable characters from other games. These include Sub-Zero and Raiden from Mortal Kombat, and they’ve even added Hellboy. Their latest addition, coming in the Fighter Pack 3, includes Enchantress, Atom and four new memorable characters. The announcement arrived at the Grand Finals at the ELEAGUE Studio to a room full of fans who went wild as the announcement happened.

The video (added below) features Enchantress and Atom facing off in the streets before being confronted by none other than the Ninja Turtles - Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael. These pizza-loving, crime-fighting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrived in the early 80s as comic book heroes trained by a mutant rat, Master Splinter. In 1987 the comic book was turned into a successful cartoon series which every child from the 90s can clearly remember. I mean, who didn’t  have a crush on April growing up? Regardless of whether you grew up during the heyday of the Ninja Turtles, you undoubtedly know who they are - and soon you’ll be able to fight Batman, Superman, The Joker, and more as your favourite Turtle.

While the fans at the ELEAGUE studio roared in excitement at the reveal, Injustice 2 received mixed reactions on Twitter as die-hard fans expressed their concern about of moving away from DC only characters. At the same time, others were excited at the announcement and cannot wait to play their favourite, new, character.

The Fighter Pack 3 DLC does not have an exact date, yet, but players with Early Access will able to play Atom on December 12th, with a full release coming shortly after. It’s unclear when the Turtles will arrive, but it will be hopefully before the year ends.
